GERMANY: Leipzig boasts an exciting art scene and many culinary highlights, making it the ideal place to spend a few days exploring. Like any trip to a new place, insider knowledge is always a good thing, so we've pulled together our Top 5 tips for discovering the city.

    Immerse Yourself in the Kunstkraftwerk

The Kunstkraftwerk boasts an exceptional array of contemporary art, culture, and design offering a modern twist on the classics. Germany painter, Werner Tübke's Peasants' War Panorama, for example, is the largest mural in Europe and widely considered as one of the most important works of figurative painting of the 20th century. You can catch the original in the Panorama Museum in Bad Frankenhausen or, if you're visiting Leipzig, can discover it in all its digital glory in the Kunstkraftwerk.  The museum is earning a big reputation for its spectacular Immersive Art Shows - like The Wonder Worlds of Alice - that plunge visitors into other worlds. Take it from us, this art experience definitely has a lasting effect!

    Stroll Through the "Karli"

Karl-Liebknecht Street, affectionately known as 'Karli' by locals, is a haven for foodies with its rows of countless restaurants lined up one after the other, and all unique. Be sure to stop and grab a beer in the beer garden at the iconic "Spoon Family" neon sign. The sign fell into disrepair after Germany's reunification and, with the help of the towns people, was restored and is now a listed cultural asset. It also makes for a great holiday snap.

    Browse Through the Flea Markets

There are plenty of flea markets in Leipzig and, with a bit of luck, you'll be able to experience a flea market during your visit. If you have the time, what could be better than rummaging for treasures and unique souvenirs on your holiday. There are plenty to suit - from the flea market in the Westwerk with its small studios and workshops, to the old records and homemade items for sale in Westfach. If you love your food, our top tip is to head to the delicatessen flea market on Karl-Liebknecht-Straße and don't forget to bring your appetite.

Catch a Coffee Break at the RöstGut Roastery

If you love your coffee, the quaint RöstGut Roastery is situated on the grounds of and old celluloid factory in Schleußig district. Here, old vine grows along one of the walls of the house presenting a rainbow of colours as the season change, and the coffee, which is sourced from a variety of countries, is first class. As the name suggests, the beans are roasted on site itself and when paired with the delicious cakes on offer are the perfect pick-me-up during the colder months .

    Modern Asian Fusion at Vacay

This cute restaurant is a newcomer to the Leipzig dining scene and won't remain a secret for long. Since opening, Vacay has enjoyed great popularity with pleasant surrounds and fabulous food. Chef deftly combines Asian and Western cuisine, making every visit a tasty experience!

Stay in the Heart of Action

Adina Leipzig combines one of the city's best locations with beautifully designed, modern studios and flats to offer all visitors an unforgettable experience in a great neighbourhood. And, best of all, your next Leipzig vacay is just a mouse click away.
