GERMANY: Easter is just around the corner and what better time to treat yourself to a city escape. With plenty on offer during Easter, we've put together a list of our favourite activities for an unforgettable holiday.

Colorful festivities at the Cologne Easter Fair

Spend a turbulent time at the popular Cologne Easter Fair! From March 31 to April 7 2024, you can expect adventurous rides and numerous snack stalls with culinary specialties. Enjoy the wonderful view of the Rhine and the famous Cologne landmark, Cologne Cathedral. A little hint: For families, it's worth stopping by on Family Day Wednesday, as the prices are lower here. On the last day of the fair, you can also marvel at the annual fireworks display.

Easter Bunny Costumes, Stilt Walking and Live Music at Wiesbaden's Easter Market

Wiesbaden's traditional Easter market is one of our top recommendations. It’s a place that’s sure to awaken the senses with 50 stalls offering a wide array of gifts, decorations and culinary specialities alongside entertainment such as stilt walkers, live music, kids activities and even a special appearance from the Easter Bunny. There’s something for everyone at Wiesban's Easter market set to take place from 15 to 17 March 2024.

    Spectacular Chocolate Hunt in Geneva

Experience an adventurous chocolate hunt in Geneva that takes you through the delicious specialties of seven chocolatiers. The 24-hour pass allows you to explore the city at your own pace. Get to know the exciting art of chocolate making and be amazed by the unique creations that are still made in the traditional way in family businesses. If you're feeling even more adventurous, you can explore Geneva's nature and waters in a canoe for a more active end to the Easter weekend.

Head to Budapest for Some Colourful Easter Action

The Hungarian capital hosts some spectacular festivities over Easter, including decorated fountains and a variety of musical and traditional folk performances. If you’re looking for fun, local Easter vibes, visit the popular market on Vörösmarty Square to find a wide range of art, ceramics and baskets. You can even watch and listen to the crafts people as they demonstrate how their products are made.

Enjoy the Crackling Warm Atmosphere at Hamburg’s Easter Bonfires

The idea behind the traditional Easter bonfires is to say goodbye to the cold season and hello to spring. On Easter Saturday (8 April 2024), Hamburg’s Easter bonfires create a unique atmosphere and attract visitors from all over the world. Our tip: take a boat trip on the Elbe River to get a great view of the blazing bonfire action from the water. A number of operators offer tours and usually depart in the evening.

These five towns and cities have more in common than just good Easter entertainment: each are home to an Adina Hotel. And since our Adina Hotels are always in very central locations, they make the perfect base for exploring this Easter. Take a look around, we’ve got some excellent offers for you.
