3 Racy Reasons to Spend Autumn in Brisbane

Brisbane: While our southern cousins are pulling their jumpers out of storage, Brisbane really comes into its own in autumn. The weather is balmy, the people are friendly, and a lively events calendar means there’s never a dull moment.

    The Greatest Motorcycles Ever Assembled!

Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) runs a variety of major exhibitions throughout the year, but this one’s sure to get your motor running.  ‘The fully immersive ‘Motorcycle: Design, Art, Desire’ exhibit features 100 of the greatest motorcycles every assembled - spanning more than a century of excellence and eccentricity. There’s even a glimpse into the ground-breaking designs of future for those technophiles amongst us. Only in GOMA until 26 Apr 2021.

Get Ready for the Ride of Your Life!

The Tour de Brisbane is the only organised bike ride in Australia on fully closed inner city roads and, best of all, anyone and everyone can enter it.  Developed by local tourism peeps back in 2010, the goal was to create a cycling festival celebrating everything about the bike, as well as showcasing Brisbane’s iconic attractions – from the showgrounds to the Story Bridge. Along the way you can help make a difference for The Common Good, an initiative of the Prince Charles Hospital, by raising funds for vital organ and tissue transplant research.

    We Salute You Straddie!

The Straddie Salute Triathlon Festival is a destination event in one of Queensland’s most popular island playgrounds, North Stradbroke Island, just off the coast of Brisbane. For the serious triathletes amongst us, The Straddie Salute features a road triathlon and an off-road triathlon option.  A kids’ duathlon and fun run make that a must-do for families who like to exercise together.

    Vital Race Day Prep

With heart rates (and lycra sales) increasing after all of that action, you’d be mad to miss the Brisbane Marathon Festival in June. Put yourself in the thick of the action by booking a stay at The Adina Brisbane and Adina Brisbane Anzac Square hotels. Our apartment-style hotel rooms have in-room kitchen that are perfect for cooking carb loading meals pre-race or whipping up a post-event kale smoothie. Plus, our laundries love your lycra and our views of Brisbane are pretty darn epic.
